We Were Evergreen [Live]

On Tuesday evening, I was lucky enough to be one of the first to hear the French trio, We Were Evergreen’s, brand new album in full, in a small album showcase. The gig was a sell out, with the dingy Camden venue stuffed like an overfilled teddy - everybody keen to hear the much awaited debut.

I don’t want to spoil it too much for you as the album titled ‘Towards’ isn’t out until the 5th May, but I will tell you the important bits. There are some new and interesting sounds on there which I wouldn’t have necessarily expected from the upbeat indie-poppers, but I was pleasantly surprised to see how well it worked and the developments this band have made since their early tracks.

The only negative thing I have to say about the night is that I was looking forward to hearing all the tracks that I know and love and all we got was ‘Leeway’. I suppose I can’t really complain though.
